Female
patient, 78 years old, who underwent surgery for coletithiasis.
During surgery, multiple rounded tumors are found in the
mesentery. The largest tumor was found to invade the
intestinal mucosa, it was ulcerated and occluding the lumen.
Thus, the surgeon decided to remove the whole intestinal
segment affected. Two gross and two microscopic images (10X
and 40X) are presented.
Immunohistochemistry showed
strong positivity of the tumor cells to vimentin and negative
for cytokeratine. [See
Histology]
