This is a
57 years old female who at the age of 54 had diagnosis of
ductal carcinoma of the right breast. Se had surgery and
chemotherapy followed by monthly controls. In her last
control on September 2005, she shows in the other breast
(left) radiological images with microcalcifications but with
no palpable tumor. Based on this, the surgeon decided to
do a quadrant resection of the breast.
The
pathologist's differential diagnosis is Ductal Atypical Hyperplasia vs.
Ductal Carcinoma In situ.
