This is a
female patient, 56 years old, with apparent previous good
health, who suffers an episode of focal seizure in the upper
arm. Neurological and CAT evaluations demonstrate a cerebral mass of mixed
aspect, solid and cystic. The patient underwent surgery
with resection of the mass without major complications.
Gross examination of the specimen shows a nodular and
cystic mass of 2 x 1.5 x 1 cm in maximal dimensions.
After sectioning, there is a small central cavity with a wall
of up to 4 mm in thickness.
4 images
of the cystic lesion are presented
